Racer’s View:

One of the very few classes that are run with traction magnets in the chassis, this has two effects. Firstly, it’s one of the fastest classes in terms of lap times. Secondly, it means that relatively humble cars, standard Fly and Scalextric models, can compete on equal terms with the expensive ‘pro’ racing cars by makes like NSR, which were designed for large commercial tracks where magnets are usually banned. A huge number and variety of cars are eligible to compete. The Fly Viper remains the fastest of all but is tricky to set up and often suffers mechanical problems, making more robust cars a better first option.
