Racer’s View:

Proof that the simple things in life are often the most pleasant, the Spanish brand Exin (branded Scalextric in Spain and SCX elsewhere), really got things right back in the Seventies and carried it on through for 20 years. No matter what age of car, the performance is well-matched across the range and they are excellent to develop skills on as magnet-free, relatively low powered cars that handle brilliantly. Later cars have steering but this makes next to no difference to pace. Most people prefer the Ferrari F187 and McLaren MP4/4 which are cheap and plentiful.
